To operate your lock, you need the ABUS One app (successor to the SmartX app). It is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems. You can find it in the App Store or Play Store.

The new app generation | SmartX becomes ABUS One

We recommend that you switch to the ABUS One app, as the SmartX app will no longer be supported and developed by us in the future. In the new app, you can expect new designs, new features and proven SmartX security.

However, before switching to the ABUS One app, you should find the keycard for your lock. This is necessary for registering in the app and therefore for continued use of your lock.

To avoid having to completely reset your lock and its settings after downloading the ABUS One app, you can export settings from the SmartX app to the ABUS One app by data transfer. The easiest way to do this is to follow the message “SmartX becomes ABUS One” in the SmartX app and the further instructions on your smartphone.

The new app generation | SmartX becomes ABUS One

Open the app, initially scan the keycard of your lock and follow the instructions for registration within the app. If you are already registered in the app, you can connect any other lock to the app using the button “+ ADD NEW ABUS LOCK”. Here too, you initially need the keycard.

Tip: You can view a short tutorial on how to use your lock in the app itself.

Important information: Please keep the keycard in a safe place. Only this allows you to identify yourself as the rightful owner of the lock and register it in our systems.

You always need the ABUS One app (formerly SmartX) to set up and open the lock.

Tip: Did you know that you don’t have to actively use the app to open the lock? If you have Bluetooth® and the keyless function switched on, the lock unlocks automatically being woken up by a slight movement at the lock. The keyless function is already activated by default.
 

The keyless function is activated by default in your lock.

Keyless means that you can open your lock without a key and smartphone in your hand. When you are close to the lock with the smartphone in your pocket, you wake it up by operating the sliding switch. The lock then unlocks automatically.

You can adjust the radius of the keyless function in the settings of the ABUS One app.
 

On delivery and after each simple closing, the lock is initially in transport mode. In this mode, the lock initially provides mechanical security. After the shackle is inserted, transport mode is activated within five seconds and confirmed by a deeper signal tone.

Monitoring mode must be activated to arm the alarm. To do this, the sliding switch on the lock body is actuated and held within a maximum of five seconds after the shackle is inserted. High-pitched tones confirm that the monitoring mode is switched on.

If the lock detects movement in monitoring mode, a pre-alarm sounds. If further and stronger movements are registered afterwards, the lock activates the 100 dB loud alarm as a deterrent.
 

The smartphone is required to operate the lock. You should therefore always keep an eye on the battery levels of the smartphone and the lock.

Tips: A power bank can help should the battery run out when out and about. You can check the battery status of the lock at any time in the app.
