The Swiss cyclist's riding style was also courageous and bold during the 17 years of his career: So he took his victories in the monuments of cycling, in time trials and the yellow jersey in the Tour of France. His honours impress: He stood on the podium 146 times in races, won two Olympic gold medals in time trials, 55 time trial victories, wore the yellow jersey for 29 days and won Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders three times each. For Fabian Cancellara, the most important successes of his career include the victory at Milan-San Remo in 2008, the gold medal at the 2009 World Championships in Mendrisio, Switzerland, his 50-kilometre triumphant ride at Paris-Roubaix in 2010, the victory at the Tour of Flanders in 2012, the impressive ride in the yellow jersey at the Tour de France in 2015 and finally his gold ride at the 2016 Olympic Games in the individual time trial. After the end of his active career, Cancellara, who now lives with his wife and two daughters in Ittingen near Bern, is involved in various aid organisations and has established his own Everyman race series "Chasing Cancellara".
