PERFORMANCE TESTED & ROAD APPROVED

With our entry into professional cycling in 2016, the demands on the product also increased. In Italy, performance helmets are created that meet complex safety requirements and high demands in relation to attractive design and weight.

Professional teams, top athletes and former competitive sportspeople make a significant contribution to the helmets with their wealth of knowledge and experience. Several hundred thousand racing kilometres provide the incredible testing ground for our ABUS helmets. “A professional trains every day. The materials they test are under constant stress. So they can give feedback on all possible situations that the material will be exposed to,” says cooperation partner Hanka Kupfernagel, former cyclist and multiple world champion.

2022 – TRIPLE OF GRAND TOURS AND WORLD CHAMPIONS

In 2022, our GameChanger and AirBreaker performance helmets shone as the safety partners of Annemiek van Vleuten. In addition to the World Championship title in Wollongong, she won the three “Grand Tours” – the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France and La Vuelta a España – in one year, and we are grateful to have been part of this outstanding sporting achievement.

 2019 - OVERALL VICTORY IN GIRO D’ITALIA

By translating this valuable feedback into an efficient development process, ABUS contributes to the performance and success of the professionals at the most important races such as the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France or the Vuelta a España. In 2019, for example, Richard Carapaz rode to overall victory in the three-week Giro d'Italia for the Movistar team - with the ABUS AirBreaker “Made in Italy”.

2018 – WORLD CHAMPION IN INNSBRUCK

The AirBreaker also accompanied an outstanding moment in the road race of the World Cycling Championships in Innsbruck in 2018: Alejandro Valverde was able to secure the gold medal after twelve world championships with six podium finishes.
